This is my fan page for Sean Tyrrell, an Irish folk singer, musician and composer from County Galway. The photo on the right shows Sean in an intimate presentation of his program Cry of a Dreamer, a mixture of recitation and traditional songs and tunes conveying the life of Irish patriot John Boyle O'Reilly, at the Philadelphia Irish Center, May 2008.

Sean accompanies himself on several instruments, and his singing style is authentic and expressive. He is known for composing music for poetry. His sound combines traditional Irish music with contemporary influences. His unique voice and the musical accompaniment on the CD I bought at the concert are memorable - the melodies are unusual, and the instrumentation is complex and haunting, perhaps reflecting the Galway musical tradition.
